Designing a database is simplified through easy-to-use graphical forms for creating tables, fields and relationships. Aptify RAD generates and maintains all SQL Server database objects including tables, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, and security settings. In addition, simply by defining a table in Aptify RAD, a user interface is generated which then can be modified as needed. Over time, any changes required to the database schema are made from the same easy-to-use forms.

Audit changes made to records in any database table through Aptify RAD’s built-in Record History feature which captures a complete log of changes made by users. Undo changes made incorrectly and report against the rate of changes by user and by type.

Aptify RAD provides a wide variety of benefits for user interface development efforts including the following:

• Web and Windows – Aptify RAD uses “meta-data” to design forms and dashboards. These meta-data tools create a UI that supports both Windows and Web-based user experiences. Once a user experience is designed in Aptify RAD, it will automatically be available in Windows and on the Web. Aptify Web Access harnesses the UI meta-data to render forms and dashboards in a rich, AJAX-enabled browser experience.
• Personalized User Experience – Complex applications often overload a user with information. Aptify RAD includes the infrastructure to design role-specific or user-specific forms and dashboards. A personalized experience helps each user efficiently access the most relevant application functionality.
• Dashboards – Dashboards provide a personalized, user-friendly display area for key functions, performance indicators and other needed elements. Any number of dashboards can be deployed via Windows and the Web.
• Forms – Aptify RAD’s form designer is built on top of the .NET designer technology and incorporates meta-data tools. This environment allows all Aptify RAD forms to be rendered from a universal meta-data definition in the smart-client for Windows and on the Web. Forms are created and modified using a graphical, WYSIWYG tool.
• Querying and Reporting Tools – Flexible ad-hoc querying tools are built-in and provide users with the ability to execute and save queries easily. Queries can be automatically executed in an unattended environment with results delivered via email or through the web. There is native support for Charting and Pivot Tables, and seamless integration with Crystal Reports®.

Aptify RAD’s Process Pipeline technology allows the user to create and modify the flow of any business process through a graphical modeler. The workflow can contain any of the built-in logic components from Aptify RAD’s library, custom .NET components, or scripts. Moreover, Aptify RAD’s Process Pipeline technology also allows a developer to deploy any business process to an asynchronous execution environment.

Aptify RAD supports the integration of data from any heterogeneous data source. This integration enables an end-user to visualize information across any number of data sources from a centralized user interface.

Any business application built on top of the Aptify RAD platform automatically inherits the ability to use built-in transactional business intelligence features in Aptify. These capabilities include charts and graphs, pivot tables, maps and calendar-based rendering of data. In addition, it is possible to use Microsoft or other OLAP technologies to further extend the business intelligence facilities native within Aptify RAD.

Aptify RAD has a powerful e-Business platform that is designed to enable application components for external use. This platform extends the Microsoft ASP.NET platform and provides a secure layer of software that allows the selective deployment of functionality from any business application developed on Aptify RAD via either Web user interfaces and/or XML Web services.

XML Web Services – Aptify RAD automatically enables XML Web Services for all business applications. Tools are included within Aptify RAD to generate ASP.NET Web Services for CRUD (create/read/update/delete) operations.
